Traffic cuts on the A-7 motorway due to works in Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella [1656]

The Ministry of Transport has announced different traffic cuts on the A-7 highway due to the execution of structural rehabilitation works on the pavement between kilometers 1,013.145 and 1041.230. The cuts will affect the municipalities of Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella.

Next Monday, July 10, the right lane will be closed between kilometer points 1,035,500 and 1,041,500 between 00:00 and 06:00, in an upward direction (towards Algeciras). It is expected that the right lane, bus stops, exits and incorporations will be cut depending on the progress of the
projecteded works.

In addition, from 10 p.m. on Monday, July 10, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, there will also be a cut to the right lane and a cut to bus stops, exits and additions depending on the progress of the projecteded works. The same will happen from 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, to 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12; and from 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, to 06:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13.

On the other hand, in both directions, between PP.KK. 1,013+145 and 1,020+000, from 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, there will be a cut to the left lane depending on the progress of the projecteded works. The same will happen from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, to 06:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14. Alternative lane cuts will be carried out, always leaving one lane open for the movement of vehicles while the work is being carried out.

They point out that, given the characteristics of the highway, it is not possible to enable alternative routes during the execution of the projecteded works. During the day, traffic will be restored to normal in the lane that was worked on the night before.

The effects of the projecteded works will continue weekly during the months of July and August 2023. While they occur, the extension works of the surface layer of the entire highway will be carried out, as well as the branches and bus stops, repainting of brands and placement of beacons.
