Fuengirola City Council will widen Los Vecinos street to improve access to the future Los Pacos Health Center [1657]
The works have been put out to tender for an amount exceeding two million euros and will involve the creation of a lane for each direction and almost a hundred parking lots. The action will develop the sector by extending the road to the intersection of Aliaria street, where the aforementioned sanitary facility will be located07/07/2023. Fuengirola City Council will widen Los Vecinos street to improve access to the future Los Pacos Health Center. For this, the Consistory has already tendered the execution of these works, which will mean the creation of a lane for each direction to connect it with Aliaria street, where the Junta de Andalucía is building the aforementioned sanitary equipment.
“The creation and start-up of the health center entailed the urban adaptation of this sector. The current road infrastructures are insufficient for the influx of people and traffic that is expected in a facility of this type. For this reason, the Government team has been working on this solutionution for some time, which consists of providing the necessary vials so that the users of this medical unit and the residents of the area can use it in optimal conditions", said the councilor for Urban Planning, Rocío Arriaga, who has announced this new public tender together with the mayor of the neighborhood, Rosa Ana Bravo.
In this way, the action will consist of the expansion of the current road platform of Los Vecinos street, from Mollina street to the turn that it currently makes to the left, providing it with two lanes, one for each direction of traffic, as well as developeded the extension of its layout in a straight line up to the height of Aliaria street, which is precisely where the future public medical units will be located.
Likewise, in addition to the provision of the corresponding lighting infrastructure, pipes and sidewalks, the intervention contemplates the creation of close to a hundred parking spaces to favor parking in this area with the arrival of the new health center.
In this sense, the initial budget for this new infrastructure is 2,427,733.3 euros and provides for an execution period of 150 days.
For her part, Bravo has assured that this work is "vital" for the future of Los Pacos and has pointed out that "it will not be the only one" that the Ana Mula executive carries out in the area to improve the infrastructure of the zone.
"With this action, we are going to significantly improve this environment, which needs parking and access according to the growing level of population that we have here, and therefore, we are going to improve the quality of life of the residents of this area of Los Pacos ”, affirmed the mayor responsible for the southern area of Los Pacos.
