DANA leaves timid rainfall in Marbella 76 days later [1669]

The iisolatedated depression at high levels (DANA) that has affected the Iberian Peninsula this weekend has only left Marbella with timid rainfall that will not contribute to alleviating the drought situation. These rains have arrived 76 days after the last ones, a circumstance that does not attract attention, since summer is usually very dry in the municipality.

This Sunday the yellow alert was activated on the Western Costa del Sol due to the possibility of heavy rains and storms, which in the end did not occur in Marbella.

The notice was initially until 3:00 p.m. this Sunday, although it was removed mid-morning. In the end, when it rained it was early Monday morning.

The passage of the DANA has resulted in several showers in the municipality, one between 6 and 7 in the morning on Sunday, and more from 10:00 p.m. until four in the morning on Monday.

In total, according to data from the Hidrosur Network at the treatment plant station, 5.8 liters per square meter have been collected.

At dawn, one liter was measured and at the end of the day and at the beginning of Monday, almost five more liters were measured, according to this source.

These rainfalls are the first after 76 days, something that is not surprising since summer is usually very dry in
Marbella, with the absence of even storms.

The last rains were recorded on June 19, a month in which it rained for six days, according to information from the Marbella Meteorological Blog.

In the Concepción reservoir, 9 liters per square meter have been collected.

The forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) indicates that the continued rain will disappear this Monday, when the sun will return.
