The Marbella Town Hall and the Malaga College of Architects will create a mixed technical commission to unify criteria that expedite the processing of urban planning files.

This was announced today by the Councilor for Territorial Planning, José Eduardo Díaz, at the end of the meeting he had with the new dean of the institution, Susana Gómez de Lara. The mayor has pointed out that "it is a pride that the main representative of the school is an architect from San Pedro Alcántara and, once we have learned of her appointment, we wanted to maintain a first contact to address various issues of interest" .

Díaz recalled that "both institutions signed an agreement in 2019 with an urban supervision visa that has been applied to 120 projectss to give them greater speed" and stressed that "now we are going to go one step further because we believe it is necessary to promote this agreement and establish a permanent communication link between the City Council and the members, two links in the same chain of a sector that is the economic engine of the Costa del Sol and in which Marbella is the main thermometer", while indicating that “the common priority is to facilitate procedures for all professionals”.

Gómez de Lara, for his part, has assured that "our purpose is to offer our collaboration, technical support and resources to the City Council through this mixed commission to improve the work of the associates and, ultimately, the service to the citizen".

Likewise, he explained that "the college has carried out a survey of the perception that architects have regarding their files to detect where the main pitfalls of the processing are and, based on this diagnosis, we will try to find corrective measures in the different municipalities of the province. Finally, he stressed that "the urban supervision visa is a very effective tool that we must give more dissemination."
